poem \"Walk Away\"

Walk Away --10.13.05 Thursday--
You walk away;
A chip on your shoulder,
Lies in your wake;
You walk away;
Turn your back,
and hide away.
You walk away,
Leaving me alone;
Desperate for a resolution,
Wanting to help;
But not understanding how.

You walk away from me;
Lost in the day-to-day repeatedly;
Questions haunt your eyes,
But stay forever silently inside.
You continue on,
Sweeping it under the rug;
Out of sight,
Out of mind;
Showing so little care.

You walk away again;
Lost in your own thoughts;
Lost in your own day-to-day;
Lost to the fact that she's drowning too;
Lost to the fact that she wants somebody to care.

Each walk away;
Lost in the fray of their minds;
Too desperate to see the other drowning;
Just content to walk away.
