poem \"HomeWrecker\"

HomeWrecker --08.31.02 Saturday--
Little girl Violet walkin' down the road.
Met a young man who thought she was 21 years old.
Asked for her name and got her number instead,
She walked away with thoughts of this young man in her head.

Little girl Violet sittin' in his car.
Trying to watch the movie as he kissed along her jaw.
Couldn't concentrate as these feelings took her over,
Awoke at 3 a.m. in the arms of her lover.

[CHORUS:]
He was a homewrecker.
She didn't know any better.
All she ever wanted was someone to love her,
And now she has a baby to mother.

So many dreams she had ahead of her;
Thought she knew ways to make it all better;
Sits at home with a baby and now is a wife;
Wonders what ever happened to her happy young woman's life.

Young mother Violet sits at home.
Talkin' all day on the telephone.
Complains about the decisions that she once made,
Wishes she hadn't grown up so quickly for her young girl's age.

[CHORUS]

Young mother Violet dresses up for the night.
Hopes her husband will come home for this night.
Gets ready to celebrate her 21st birthday,
As her two-year old cries all the time that she's away.

[CHORUS]

So many dreams she had ahead of her;
Thought she knew ways to make it all better;
sits at home with a baby and also is a wife;
Wonders what ever happened to her happy young woman's life.

[CHORUS]

[CHORUS]

All she ever wanted was someone to love her,
And now she has a baby to mother.
